Dr Edu Mohammed was conferred with a Doctor of Decision Making Process degree at a special ceremony held in Mankessim for impacting the lives of many.

Nana Ama Amissah III, Queen mother of Mankessim, Mr Isaac Owusu, Central Regional Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and five others were the other recipients of honorary doctorate degrees.

The elated herbal doctor told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that: “I am happy with this award. I am particularly happy that my modest contribution to the development and growth of the herbal industry in Ghana has been recognised by this great institution.

 “I was not even aware that the University was observing my performance from a distance. They have been observing me for two years now. I thank them for this award, which will spur me on in the profession”.

He said “I see this as a challenge to intensify what I am doing now to entice others to emulate. It also brings a great responsibility to me,” he added. He underscored the need to recognize people for their dedication and contribution to humanity whilst they were alive.

He called on the Government to support those in traditional medicine with equipment to enable them to produce medicine that were of best standard to save the country from importing medicine.Dr Edu Mohammed has practised as a traditional doctor for about 15 years. Due to his positivity and hardworking, he has strived to achieve the highest standard in any given task.

He is the Central Regional Adviser to the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (GHAFRAM) and also doubles as the Regional Secretary and Chairman for the Mfantseman Municipal Chapter of the Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers (GNATH).
