The four-day conference is being organised by Critical Care Nurses Group (CCNG) Ghana and World Federation of Critical Care Nurses (WFCCN).

It is providing the platform for sharing of ideas and experiences to sharpen the skills of participants  to enable them to cater for patients’ professionally.

It is on the theme: “Holistic Care of the Critically Ill; The Role of The Nurse”, Madam Susana Larbi Wumbee, of the  Institutional  Care Division at the Ghana Health Service, addressing  the participants said “good attitude” was essential to providing   quality healthcare delivery.

“Your behaviour is what the clients can use to assess if you are a good nurse or not; with the right attitude and skills, I believe you will reach the altitude of your career goal and you must be committed at work towards that,” she said.

She advised the participants to pursue further education and embrace technological innovation to improve their output.

The Chairperson of CCNG, Mrs. Faustina Excel-Adipa, said the group was set up to provide  high quality resource to enhance  nurses’ contribution to caring and improving the healthcare of the critically ill patients’ and their families.

She said the increased demand for critical nurses in the intensive care unit resulted in the establishment of the critical care nursing training school.

Mrs. Excel-Adipa called on the participant to make good use of the knowledge gained at the conference to improve quality health care delivery.
