The Abossey Okai Circuit of the Methodist Church
of Ghana, at the weekend honoured the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma Central Constituency, Mr. Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, in appreciation and
recognition of his meritorious and dedicated service to the Church and the people of the area.
Mr. Chaie took home a rich Kente cloth and a sandals as well as a citation, which was read by the resident Minister of the Bethlehem Methodist
Church at Russia, Reverend Solomon Anyetei Patterson.
The citation read: "Your unflinching commitment and loyalty to the people and the Church has never been in doubt, and even more critically at this movement when national service elicits most of your time.
"As a Church, we take immense pride in your recent attainment of this prestigious feat as an honourable Member of Ghana's legislature".
Rev Patterson said, the MP's unwavering service sends a clarion call to all that, "True success is all about fulfilling our God given purpose in living, learning, loving and leaving a good legacy without compromising our character, spiritual values, and principles".
He quoted Saint Paul's words in Philippians as saying, "forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Mr. Chaie said he was overwhelmed with his selection and dedicated the award to the entire community in the Ablekuma Central.
He commended the Methodist Church for their contribution to national development, particularly in education and health.
He said the times ahead would be difficult and asked Christians to preach the good news to the youth, so that they would not become victims to societal vices.
