Francis Ahiabor, a student, and Michael Tettey, a driver, on Tuesday appeared before the Kade District Magistrate Court charged with conspiracy to murder and murdering a woman.
The prosecution said the two administered a concoction to Yaa Agyekumwaa that led to her death.
The plea of the two was not taken and they were remanded in prison custody till July 22.
Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Ambrose Akpablie told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Iliasu that about two months ago the mother of the deceased detected that her daughter was pregnant and she mentioned Tetteh as the one responsible for the pregnancy.
He said on June 11 the deceased asked permission from her mother to travel with Tettey but the mother refused.
She however left home after supper and she could not be traced until June 13 when Tettey called the deceased's mother on phone to inform her that her daughter who visited him in the village fell sick and was taken to St.
Dominic Hospital at Akwatia for treatment but died shortly on admission.
The mother suspected a foul play and reported the death to the police and Tettey was arrested.
Tettey mentioned Ahiabor as the one who assisted him to prepare the concoction that was given to the deceased to terminate the pregnancy that resulted in her death.
The prosecutor said both accused persons admitted the offence.
