Ablame Ahorlu, 29, a corn-mill operator at Bokor-kope near Klikor, who denied defiling a primary school girl was given out by the underwear of the victim, stuck under his bed when the police went to the crime scene.
Ahorlu pleaded not guilty but Mr. Francis Obiri, presiding over an Aflao Circuit Court last Thursday, sentenced him to 20 years in hard labour
for defilement.
Mr. Wisdom Ocloo, a Police Chief Inspector of Agbozume, told the court that Ahorlu lived and operated a corn mill at Borkor-kope where the victim aged 12 also resided with her parents.
He said on January 1, this year, at around 1230 hours, the victim was passing by Ahorlu's house on an errand.
Mr. Ocloo said Ahorlu who was alone in the house accosted the victim, dragged her into his room, gagged and sexually abused her.
He said the victim on reaching home reported the incident to her parents who confronted Ahorlu but he denied the accusation after which the
matter was reported to the police.
Mr. Ocloo said during an inspection of Ahorlu's room, the victim's underwear which she left there while she fled, was found concealed under Ahorlu's bed.
