A Group calling itself the Professional Democrats of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lauded government for what they described as making headway in the fight to bring down drug trafficking.
"We have been observing with keen interest the manner in which government is working around the clock to stop the nation from becoming a transit point for drug trafficking since it assumed office a little over a year ago," it said.
Mr Aubrey Mends, Chairman of the group who told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi called on all Ghanaians to support the campaign against the
illicit drug trade to raise the nation's international image.
Touching on the President's State of the Nation's Address, he said "it offers hope to the masses" and commended the Economic Management Team for
its good job and bold steps towards macro-economic stability.
Mr Mends drew attention to the need for government to deepen the rule of law and good governance by doing everything possible to aid the recently
inaugurated Constitutional Review Commission to successfully carry out its mandate.
On the oil and gas exploitation, he said government should make sure that revenue from the sector benefited every Ghanaian.
Again he added that it was important to focus on building the human resource base of the nation so that Ghana would have competent people to man
the oil and gas industry as well as the other sectors of the economy for effective utilization of state resources.
