Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman, has said government and its donor partners have released GHC 11,000 to the assembly for construction of urban roads in the area.
He said the assembly had planned to sink 79 boreholes, extend electricity to communities and provide deprived schools with modern facilities under the District Development Fund this year.
Mr. Kyeremeh was speaking at an end-of-year get-together, organized for assembly members, heads of department, traditional authorities and staff of the assembly in Techiman.
He called on the assembly members to mobilize the people and encourage them to initiate self help projects to attract the support of government.
He advised the people to bury their differences and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Mr. Adam Hafiz, Municipal Coordinating Director, commended members of the various committees of the assembly for their dedication to work.
Mr. Adjei Mensah, Presiding Member of the Assembly, said the get-together offered a platform for participants to take stock of past performances and shortfalls of the district.
