Piers Morgan has demanded an apology from CBS show The Talk in the ongoing controversy over his comments about Meghan Markle.
The former host of Good Morning Britain — who stepped down Tuesday in the wake of widespread condemnation of his tirades against Markle — responded to a tweet from his friend and The Talk c0-host Sharon Osbourne, who was accused of racism after defending Morgan on Wednesday’s episode.
“Sharon’s been shamed & bullied into apologising for defending me against colleagues accusing me of racism because I don’t believe Meghan Markle’s bullsh*t,” he wrote. “This is where we’ve reached. I demand an apology from those @TheTalkCBS bullies for their disgraceful slurs against ME.”
Hours earlier, Osbourne had posted a lengthy statement clarifying her stance. “I have always been embraced with so much love & support from the Black community & I have deep respect & love for the Black community. To anyone of colour that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said, I am truly sorry,” she posted on Twitter.
