Vietnam's import from Russia went up 30.3 percent year-on-year to 1.06 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of this year, according to the information center of Ministry of Industry
and Trade on Wednesday.
In this period, Vietnam mainly purchased iron and steel from Russia with turnover of 583.99 million U.S. dollars, up 46 percent year-on-year.
The country's import value of oil and petroleum from Russia was 258.44 million U.S. dollars from January to September this year, up more than five times over the same period last year.
Vietnam saw a year-on-year decline in import of automobiles, machines and equipment, rubber, wood and wood products, fertilizer, chemicals and
pharmaceutical products from Russia in the first nine months.
