The Deputy Minister of Energy, Collins Adomako Mensah, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding the use of renewable energy.
Speaking at the Kyekyewere Electoral Area in the Afigya Kwabre North Constituency, Adomako Mensah emphasized the need for supportive policies and technological advancements.
Ghana’s energy mix currently relies heavily on traditional sources (68.8%), followed by hydropower (29.1%), and renewable energy (2.1%).
Adomako Mensah highlighted the government’s achievements and outlined future plans, stressing the importance of investment in renewable energy, innovation, and inclusive policies for sustainable development.
He noted that renewable energy is crucial for ensuring a stable power supply, fostering economic growth, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Residents expressed concerns about insecurity due to inadequate lighting and appealed for the swift completion of street light installations.
Adomako Mensah assured residents that efforts are underway to extend electricity to all areas, with contractors working diligently to meet deadlines.
