That, he said was because private sector such as the First Sky Group, was contributing to the economic development of the country.

“The desire to building a strong and healthy economy that will stand the global economic and social pressure of our time remains my fixed resolution: to create a very good and sustainable enabling environment for private sector actors such as First Sky Group, whose contributions undoubtedly result in the economic develop­ment of our country”, he said.

President Akufo-Addo said this in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Roads and High­ways, Mr Kwesi Amoako Atta, at the 20th anniversary thanksgiving service of the First Sky Group in Accra yesterday.

It was on the theme “The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad, Psalm 126:3,” was to show gratitude to God for His protection over the years.

The programme was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including ministers of state, parliamentarians, clergy, Judiciary, Vice President of Liberia; Ms Jewel Howard Taylor, traditional rulers and staff of the company.

President Akufo-Addourged the Ghanaian Christian commu­nity home and abroad, faith based organisations, companies and Gha­naians to support funding efforts to complete the National Cathe­dral project despite the numerous criticisms.

“My commitment to see this pledge become a reality is unwav­ering and I believe with the help of the Almighty God and your support, we can do it,” he added.

The Founder and Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr Eric Seddy Kutorste, in his remarks thanked God for His continuous guidance over the years.

Mr Kutortse said 20 years when the life of the First Sky began, the vision was to create job opportuni­ty, create wealth to support God’s kingdom, bring relief to humanity, poor and needy and promote well­being of staff.

He announced that three patients would undergo kidney transplant in Ghana before the end of April this year with full sponsor­ship from Sky Group Company.

“I am also happy to announce that a joint working committee from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the First Sky has been formed and it is our hope that by the end of this year, the kidney transport Center will be fully operational to cater for patients not in Ghana but entire West Africa,” he said

Mr Kutortse said so far GH¢26 million had been spent on free dialysis for over 300 patients over the years in Korle Bu Teach­ing Hospital.

He assured of the ongoing church project in the country, stating that 71churches had been completed in Ghana.

The Chairman of the Com­pany said this year, three more churches had been earmarked to be built in Ashanti, Volta and Northern regions.

Preaching the sermon, on the theme “Aware of the presence of God” the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, USA, Reverend Doug Clay said “God is everywhere and is on your side in every situation”.

He urged Christians to stay with God and He will protect them and give them peace.

Rev. Clay encourage the man­agement and staff of the Compa­ny not to build the company on their own perspective but impact future generations.
