The New Juaben South Municipal Office of the National Service Secretariat (NSS) is to organise a job fair for all National Service Personnel (NSP) in the Municipality.
The job fair is scheduled for July 24 this year at the Koforidua Technical University.
The initiative is geared towards curbing the high unemployment problem in the the Municipality.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the New Juaben South Municipal Director of NSS, Mr Eugene Bempong said the job fair is one of the activities outlined in the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) week celebrations this year.
He said the initiative will provide an opportunity for a number of NSP to be employed instantly.
Mr Bempong said NSP who will participate are required to come along with their curriculum vitae (CV) and school certificates to be interviewed for job placement.
He said interviews will be conducted for employment in marketing, accounting and engineering.
Mr Bempong said, as at now, four private companies from Tema have agreed to participate in the job fair.
He said though the sectors for the interviews have been indicated, the job fair is opened to everyone to have an experience of what a job interview is about.
Mr Bempong said the secretariat intends to make the job fair an annual affair to give opportunity to NSP to be employed right after service.
He said a research committee will be set up to research into private companies which have vacancies for employment for such companies to be part of the annual fair.
Mr Bempong encourage all NSP in the municipality to participate in the job fair and the NASPA week celebration as a whole.
