Metal Trusses

Information
Our Metal trusses are the engineered framework that supports the roof. They are made from high-strength, Galvanized Cold-Formed Steel (Light Gauge Steel). Unlike wood, which is cut and nailed on-site, metal trusses are precisely designed using software and assembled into triangular frames that are incredibly strong but lightweight.
Material: Zinc-coated (galvanized) steel to prevent rusting.
Form: Prefabricated "C" or "U" channels screwed together.
Purpose: To bridge the gap between walls and provide a stable surface for the roofing sheets.
Why Metal Trusses are Better Than Wood
1. Termite Proof (The #1 Selling Point)
In our environment, termites are the biggest enemy of wooden roofs. They can eat through timber trusses, causing the roof to sag or collapse over time. Steel is inorganic—termites cannot eat it. Your customer will never have to spend money on chemical termite treatments or worry about "borers."
2. Fire Resistance
Wood is fuel for fire; steel is not. Metal trusses are non-combustible. In the event of a fire, metal trusses do not contribute to the spread of the flames, providing a much higher level of safety for the family and the property.
3. Perfect Straight Lines (No Warping)
Wood tends to warp, bend, or "creep" as it dries out or gets wet, which can cause the roofing sheets on top to look wavy or develop leaks. Metal stays perfectly straight. This ensures that premium products like your Self-Lock or Eurotiles sit perfectly flat and look professional for decades.
4. Lightweight but Stronger
Steel has a much higher strength-to-weight ratio than wood.
It puts less stress on the building's foundation.
It allows for larger spans (wide open rooms) without needing extra support pillars in the middle of the house.
5. Speed of Installation
Because these are often prefabricated, they can be installed much faster than traditional timber. This saves the homeowner money on labor costs and gets the house "dried-in" (covered) before the rain starts.
6. Precision & Zero Waste
When you buy timber, you often pay for pieces that are crooked or have knots, leading to waste. Metal trusses are engineered to the exact millimeter, meaning the customer pays for exactly what is used on the roof.
