Mr Oppey Abbey, National Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Breku, on Sunday urged Ghanaians to retain the party in power because a different political party would not ensure consistent progress.
He said it was therefore important for electorates to vote massively for the party's presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 7, 2008 elections.
Addressing a rally at Kpormeitey, a suburb Kasoa, Mr Abbey also appealed to electorate to vote for him so that he would be able to push forward the NPP development agenda for the area.
He again appealed to them to help sustain the prevailing peace and stability in the country saying one way of doing that was to tolerate the views of opponents.
Mr Abbey urged party faithful to be wary of political opponents, who went round enticing potential voters to release their identity cards in exchange of rewards.
He said once such people gave their cards out, their eligibility as voters was questionable.
