Chelsea are set to make a late move for Barcelona midfielder Keira Walsh before the Women's Super League's transfer deadline.
The Blues have had a long-standing interest in the England international, who joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2022 for a then world record fee of £400,000.
Barca turned down a bid - reported in the Spanish media to be £930,000 - from Chelsea's WSL rivals Arsenal in September.
Walsh has six months left on her contract and it is believed she has previously told the club she did not intend to renew.
During her time in Barcelona, Walsh has won back-to-back league and European titles.
Barca have been unwilling to sell her but Chelsea, who broke the women's transfer world record last week to sign USA defender Naomi Girma, have made another enquiry.
The WSL transfer window shuts at 23:00 GMT on Thursday.
