Derby County have signed striker Lars-Jorgen Salvesen from Norwegian top-flight club Viking on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old was the joint-second top scorer in the Eliteserien last season with 12 goals, which took his league tally over two seasons with the Stavanger-based side to 22.
The Rams will become the fourth club the Norwegian forward has featured for in the past three years, with a stint at Bodo/Glimt sandwiched between his time with their top-flight rivals Viking and Stromsgodset.
He also previously played in the Eliteserien for IK Start and Sarpsborg.
Derby boss Paul Warne reiterated that the Rams would need a "freshen up" during the transfer window and were in need "more goal threat" after his side crashed out of the FA Cup against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.
On-loan Swansea striker Jerry Yates is Derby's leading scorer this season with six goals, while Ebou Adams and Kayden Jackson have four apiece in all competitions - which is also as many own goals as the Rams have profited from in the league.
James Collins, who was Derby's top scorer with 19 goals in their League One promotion-winning campaign last season, has been out of favour since their return to the Championship.
He has made 16 of his 17 league appearances off the bench so far and has failed to score.
Salvesen has arrived in Derby ahead of their Championship game against Watford on Saturday, but his move remains subject to international clearance.
