The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced significant changes to the technical teams of the Black Starlets and Black Meteors, appointing experienced coaches to lead the national youth sides into the future.
Stephen Frimpong Manso, a seasoned CAF License A coach has been named head coach of the Black Starlets, Ghana's U-17 team.
He brings with him a wealth of experience to the job and will be assisted by Nana Kweku Agyemang and Jacob Nettey, both of whom previously held the same role with the team.
The technical team is further strengthened with the appointment of Kennedy Ofori Ansah as goalkeepers' trainer, while Derrick Laryea and Charles Okofo Asenso take on the roles of Video Analyst and Equipment Officer, respectively.
Dr Kofi Ablorh will head the medical team as Team Doctor, supported by Physiotherapist Eric Totimeh and Masseur Jeremiah Boye. Waisu Ali Mohammed will oversee player welfare as the team’s Welfare Officer, completing a comprehensive backroom staff, according to the GFA.
Meanwhile, Coach Kassim Ocansey, affectionately known as Kassim Mingle, has been appointed head coach of the Black Meteors, the U-23 national team.
Currently the head coach of Nations FC, he brings a wealth of experience from his successful managerial stints with Great Olympics, Bechem United, numerous academies, colts and second-tier clubs across Ghana.
A renowned developer of young talent, the experienced trainer will be entrusted with the task of restoring the Black Meteors to rediscover their competitive edge.
Drawing on his extensive playing career with top clubs such as Dumas Boys of GTP, GIHOC Stars and Sekondi Eleven Wise, Mingle is set to instil a culture of discipline and competitiveness in the team as they aim for success in upcoming international competitions.
