Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Prosper Narteh Ogum, says his team’s winning goal that came from the penalty spot was as a result of pressure from his team.
He said this in a post game interview after Kotoko scored a 1-0 win over FC Samartex in the headline game of the latest round of games in the Ghana Premier League 2023-2024 season second round.
Enock Morrison scored the resultant penalty that was heavily disputed by Samartex to end Kotoko’s winless streak that had the Porcupine Warriors lose six and draw a game in seven outings prior to meeting Samartex.
Coach Ogum believes the penalty came as a result of Kotoko’s pressure on the visitors to the Baba Yara Stadium.
“Both teams came in with the intention to play very expansively, create chances and score so they got on some few occasions on the counter I think we also got them and then out of our pressure I think we won that penalty.”
