After spending over 24 hours in artificial coma after sustaining serious injuries in a car accident, 2012 AFCON winner Rainford Kalaba, is responding well to treatment according to reports reaching Citi Sports.
Kalaba was wrongly pronounced dead by emergency medical service after his car collided head on with a heavy truck on Saturday. However, he was confirmed to be in a critical condition instead and placed in coma.
Hours later, the former TP Mazembe star is responding to treatment according to Public Relations Officer of the University Teaching Hospital, Nzeba Chanda.
“He is responding very well to treatment. We can see a lot of movement and a lot of gestures that are evident to see in the way he is responding to sounds, the way he is responding to touch and those are the things that we can tell that he’s really improved as compared to the day that he came.”
