Jeremie Frimpong has been one of the stars of Bayer Leverkusen’s stellar season.
The Dutch international has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the German side who remain unbeaten so far.
But Frimpong has not just been an ever-present for the now-German champions, he has played a significant role in the success with his performances as well.
His eight goals and seven assists, along with his general explosiveness at right wing-back, have been instrumental in Leverkusen ending their Bundesliga title drought this season.
Frimpong also has two goals in the Europa League and five goal contributions in the DFB-Pokal, with Xabi Alonso’s side eyeing a treble to crown an incredible season.
The player’s contributions to Leverkusen’s campaign have not gone unnoticed by fans of the club who mobbed him in the aftermath of their win over Werder Bremen, which confirmed their ascent to the top of the German football hierarchy on Sunday.
The supporters lifted him on their shoulders and cheered, producing some of the most iconic images of Leverkusen’s title celebrations at the BayArena.
