Columbus Crew manager, Caleb Porter will have the services of his centre-back, Jonathan Mensah during their second leg CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal game at Monterrey.
The 30-year-old Ghana international sat out of the first leg and also missed their Major League Soccer (MLS) game against CF Montreal last Saturday due to a hamstring injury.
But the defender, who has been nominated among the MLS best XI players of the season, admitted that he was fit and ready for Wednesday’s return leg match.
“That's why I'm here. I'm ready to help the team get a good result,” Mensah said. “It felt a little strange (being out) … but when stuff like that happens, you just need to take it easy and get ready to be able to help the team to your best ability.”
