The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has secured a sponsorship deal from Toyota Ghana Limited, dealers in automobile vehicles, for the 2019 SAL Beach Games in Cape Verde.
The sponsorship package includes, 50 pieces of Track Suites, Polo Shirts, Cups and flight tickets for three athletes to participate in the championship.
Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah President of the GOC said, the donation was a major relief for them ahead of the competition.
He said, the GOC would seek more sponsorship for all competitions, adding that the strategy had taken burden off the government.
Mr. Nunoo Mensah said, there would be more relief for the GOC, when various sponsorships measures were approved.
Mr. Andrew Lamptey, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Toyota Ghana said "Ghana had patronized our vehicles, spare parts and services and “we want to take this as an opportunity to give back to society through sports”.
“This was why Toyota came on board. We are convinced about the Olympic spirit and this is the time to come on board."
Ghana would participate in four disciplines namely Freestyle Soccer, Krate Kata, Beach Volley ball, and 3-aside basketball.
A contingent of 10 would depart the shores of Ghana on Tuesday, June 11, for the competition billed for 14-23 June.
