The head coach of Ghana's female U17 side believes his team will respond positively after Saturday's disappointment
Ghana coach Evans Adotey has tipped his side for an early recovery following Saturday's 5-0 humiliating defeat to Japan in the Women's Under-17 World Cup in Jordan.
The Black Maiden's were undone by four first half goals at the Prince Mohammed International Stadium in Zarqa as Riko Ueki, Jun Endo (2x), Saori Takarada and Remina Chiba netted for the Asians.
"We had a game plan today," Adotey said after the game.
"I knew that in our opening match we'd be facing a very strong Japanese side.
"I know their strengths and that's why I wanted to put them under pressure early on. However, we conceded easy goals far too quickly.
"They were simple passes that completely took out our entire defence.
"We still got two more games and we're by no means out of the competition yet.
"We'll bounce back against USA and get back to our old strength.
"I'll learn some lessons from today's game and maybe go back to playing simple football and playing on the break."
Ghana take on the USA on Tuesday before wrapping up the group against Paraguay.
