?Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke has vowed to pay back the club for their trust and investment in him by scoring important goals this season.
The Eagles forked out £32m to bring the Belgian powerhouse from Anfield to Selhurst Park this summer, and Benteke has promised the fans and the club that he will pay them back with a consistency in front of goal that he lacked when playing for Liverpool last season.
Speaking to the official club website, via the ?Daily Mail, the 25-year-old insisted that as well as scoring goals, he hopes to have an affect on the team's consistency as a whole this campaign:
"The manager and chairman did everything to bring me here and therefore I have to give them something back, and the best way of doing that is to do my best and by scoring goals.
"Today was a successful one for me and the team. Since the draw against Bournemouth, we have shown what we are about, but we must continue to do that.
"Today showed why English football is the best league in the world because from the first minute to the last, everything is possible and we go away with all three points."
Benteke scored his second goal of the season in a dramatic comeback victory against Sunderland with a header in the dying moments of the game on Saturday, and the former Aston Villa striker suggested that patience is the key for taking chances when they really matter:
"You have to be patient in this game and I knew that my chance would come and when I saw the cross coming into the box, I knew I had to score."
