The Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Benjamin Kyere, has said Ghanaians should avoid political intolerance.
He said having accepted to travel the path of constitutional democracy, it was imperative for everyone to play by the rules and respect the views of their political opponents.
Mr Kyere said this at the launch of the constitutional week celebration in the municipality at Ejisu.
He appealed to politicians to desist from insults and telling lies about their opponents but to focus on things that would unite the people and promote development
Mr Kyere urged the people to work hard to assure the nation of peace and progress in its democratic governance.
Mr Jacob Amponsah, a District Magistrate at Asante-Effiduase, appealed to the people to make conscious effort to become more conversant with the constitution so as to become alive to their fundamental freedoms and civic responsibilities.
“This is the way to uphold and protect the constitution,” he said.
