Annan’s return gives Ghana a source of hope after the less promising news regarding Michael Essien…
Ghanaian international midfielder Anthony Annan is back on his feet and is a possible starter against Burkina Faso in the African Nations Cup on Tuesday, officials at the Ghana camp in Angola have confirmed.
After the news that star player Michael Essien has been ruled out of the must-win game, Annan’s sudden return is a major boost for the west African nation currently injury ravaged and without a point in the so far.
The Norway-based player returned to full training on Sunday and his presence on the field could propel the youngsters to showcase their best.
He suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s pre-tournament camp in Nelspruit, South Africa.
Ghana are parading close to a dozen Under-20 World Cup winning youngsters due to injuries for senior players such as Stephen Appiah, John Mensah and John Paintsil, whilst Sulley Muntari is out for disciplinary reasons.
