The Siena hitman thought that Algeria had their chances to win...
Siena striker Abdelkader Ghezzal may be away representing Algeria at the African Cup of Nations, but he is displeased with his nation's 3-0 loss to Malawi in their opening encounter.
Ghezzal also revealed that the 25-year-old is not fearful of his life, despite the machine gun attack on the Togo national team bus.
"We played well and deserved to lose," Ghezzal stated to Sportal. "We had some good chances, but were not good enough to capitalise on them.
"This defeat will do us well, as we need to rediscover the spirit that allowed us to qualify for the World Cup.
"We now need to focus on our next match against Mali, who drew 4-4 with Angola.
"What happened [to Togo] is horrible, and we were all touched by this event.
"I have been paying close attention to our security in the last few days, and we only make secure journeys, which is why the players are tranquil," added Ghezzal.
