Clashes between protesters and police renewed on Friday in Egypt, leaving six policemen injured, as Egypt marked the second anniversary of the 2011 unrest that toppled former leader Hosni Mubarak.
As tens of thousands of people flocked into Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo after the Friday prayers, clashes erupted between demonstrators and security forces in the street of Shaikh Rihan near the American University, leaving six policemen injured, according to MENA news Agency
According to official MENA news agency , the wounds ranged from fractures to bruises, as the protesters threw stones on the security personnel.Demonstrations covered parts of Alexandria governorate, where violent clashes also erupted, with protesters throwing stones at the security forces and the latter replying with tear gas.
