Bayern Munich captain Oliver Kahn claims English opposition always struggle against the 18-time German champions and is confident the club can overturn a 4-2 first leg deficit when they face Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday.
Premiership leaders Chelsea are favourites to hold onto their two-goal lead but German international goalkeeper Kahn -- never short of confidence -- believes Chelsea are there for the taking.
"We are Bayern Munich and English teams always have trouble as soon as they leave the island," declared Kahn. "We need to hit Chelsea with our own weapons. They play very aggressively and we must be like that from the start and match them in the physical battles."
Bayern do have a hoodoo over English opposition in the Champions League and current English champions Arsenal fell to a 3-1 reverse in Munich in the last round of the competition.
"We are capable of scoring three or four goals at home and have shown that already against Arsenal and Ajax," said midfielder Michael Ballack.
Despite needing to score twice against a mean Chelsea defence coach Felix Magath is brimming with confidence and believes the return of Dutch international Roy Makaay from injury will frighten Chelsea.
"Roy will be more effective on Tuesday and our opponents must watch out for him," said Magath. "He is lethal in the area."
Peruvian international Claudio Pizarro is also expected to be fit after recovering from a thigh injury but Magath insists the defence is also an important factor.
"This time we need to defend well and then the (Frank) Lampard problem will not be there," added Magath.
Chelsea's England international Lampard scored twice in Chelsea's 4-2 first leg win and Magath is aware that conceding the first goal would be disastrous.
"I never want to see us defend like we did in London again," raged Magath. "I do not expect to see errors like that.
"If we concede the first goal against Chelsea it could be fatal."
That would leave Bayern needing to score three times to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2001 when they went on to win the competition.
"If we have a good day and everything comes together then we can beat Chelsea by two clear goals," vowed Magath. "We do not need to win the match in the first 20 minutes but do need to score first.
"I think we can do it and we know the whole of Germany are rooting for us."
Chelsea have lost just four games all season and all of them by just a single goal but Magath is unperturbed by the statistic.
"Statistics are there to be broken," he added.
The winner of the Bayern-Chelsea showdown will face Liverpool or Juventus in the last four.
