Nana Asamoah Boamah, a sports analyst has called on the management and supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club and Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football club to do away with the rancour and perceived enmity between them and rather promote healthy competitions for the development of soccer in the country.
He said the early exit of the two Clubs from this year's CAF Champions League was very painful and attributed this to lack of direction, misplacement of priority and the un-cooperative attitude between the two clubs.
Speaking to the GNA Sports at Tepa immediately after the Hearts match against the Dolphins of Nigeria in Accra last Sunday, Nana Boamah said it is time the management of the two clubs forget about the past and the unnecessary suspicion of each other and forge closer relationship.
Nana Boamah also asked the two teams to pool their resources together and exchange ideas if they want to develop as world class football clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Chelsea or FC Porto.
He said he was not happy that at a time that the two clubs needed concentration and absolute peace to plan strategically for their continental assignments, they rather used their scarce resources on attacking each other and engaging in unnecessary litigations, the result of which they have paid dearly.
The Sports analyst appealed to the management, supporters, the players and sports journalists in the country to help bring the two clubs together instead of the current situation where both teams see each other as enemies.
He advised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and GHALCA to come together and put the necessary structures and programmes in place for the Premier league matches to take off, adding that the late start of the league affects the team's performance and their financially base.
