Dutch international defender Jaap Stam has extended his contract with former European champions AC Milan till the end of the 2007 season, the club said here Wednesday.
"I'll finish my career at Milan," said the 32-year-old Stam, who joined AC on a two-year deal last summer from another Serie A side, Lazio.
"Initially I agreed to stay till 2006 then finish my career off with a club in Holland. But I really like it here, so I've decided to stay an extra season."
Stam famously left Manchester United in the summer of 2001 after falling foul of the English club's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, when he wrote his autobiography.
The imposing Dutchmanm had before then made his name at PSV Eindhoven, where he played from 1996 to 1998.
