The Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area in the Upper West Region, Naa Prof. Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, has advised President John Dramani Mahama's appointees to prioritise serving the people and being accountable, rather than using their positions for personal gain.
He said it was an opportunity for them to represent their constituencies and ensure that the national cake was shared equally “but not sectional parochial interest knowing very well that not all constituencies are represented in these appointments”.
In a statement signed and issued by the Nandom Naa, he commended President Mahama for his inclusive approach to appointments, ensuring representation from various stakeholders, including women, religious and ethnic groups.
“This thoughtful approach ensures that diverse voices are heard in the decision-making process, complementing parliamentary representation,” he said.
The traditional leader, who is the former National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), lauded President Mahama for keeping his campaign promise to limit the number of ministers to 60, demonstrating a willingness to listen and adapt.
“This move demonstrates a willingness to listen and adapt,” he concluded.
