Kissi Agyebeng’s management style must be scrutinized

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has called on Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to account for his handling of cases, raising concerns over delays in prosecuting high-profile corruption investigations.

Kpebu argues that Agyebeng’s management style warrants scrutiny, particularly regarding the pace of investigations.

On February 12, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) officially declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a suspect in four major corruption cases, including the National Cathedral project and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) contracts.

During a press briefing that same day, the Special Prosecutor announced that Ofori-Atta was now a wanted person and must return immediately for questioning. He warned that legal measures could be taken to compel his return if he failed to comply.

Speaking on The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV, Kpebu insisted that Agyebeng must explain his approach to case management, particularly the delays in addressing Ofori-Atta’s case.

“Kissi Agyebeng’s management style must be seriously scrutinized. He [Kissi Agyebeng] must come and account for his management style. We cannot continue to just give him support.

“Those days where you will just come and say Akufo-Addo [former President] is hindering the work are over. If we’re to do that, a lot of things will go under the carpet. I’m not satisfied with the pace of work.”
