The Asogli State Council has expressed serious concern over the recent vandalism and burning of office equipment at the Ho Central Constituency Office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Reports indicate that the incident was allegedly carried out by disgruntled party supporters upset over the perceived exclusion of certain members from recent ministerial appointments by President John Dramani Mahama.
In a statement issued on January 23, signed by the Council’s Secretary, Stephen Tetteh, the Asogli State Council strongly condemned the act, calling for calm within the constituency. The Council emphasized that such actions undermine the principles of democracy and good governance upheld by both the NDC and the nation.
The statement urged NDC members to avoid behaviours that could disrupt the peace and unity of the region.
The Council reminded party members that the government’s term spans four years, leaving room for future opportunities for others to be appointed.
They emphasized the importance of dialogue and due process in resolving grievances, urging members to respect party structures and mechanisms.
Additionally, the Asogli State Council called on the NDC leadership to engage constructively with members, ensuring transparent communication and inclusivity to prevent misunderstandings that could lead to conflict.
Reaffirming their commitment to peace, unity, and progress in the region and the country, the Asogli State Council appealed to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, to prioritize the collective good and uphold national harmony.
