The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has extended its warmest New Year wishes to Ghanaians, commending citizens for their role in maintaining peace and stability during the December elections.
In a statement signed by the National Secretary of the PPP, Remy Paa Kow Edmundson, the party praised Ghanaians for their "civility and tolerance" throughout the electoral process, emphasizing that such attitudes are crucial to the nation's continued peace.
"As we prepare for a transition in Government on 7th January 2025, we urge all citizens to reflect on our challenges of the past and transform them into opportunities," the statement read.
The PPP also congratulated the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, and urged the incoming government to adopt an inclusive approach to governance. "We wish the incoming President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the government to be formed to focus on inclusiveness to ensure Ghana develops to improve the lives of the people for the benefit of all," the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment to the nation's progress, the PPP assured Ghanaians of its ongoing efforts to hold governments accountable and propose alternative policies aimed at fostering good governance.
