The Ekumfi Traditional Council is urging President-elect John Dramani Mahama to equally distribute wealth among the people of the Central Region.
The Traditional Council says John Dramani Mahama’s respect for traditional authorities across Ghana justifies his overwhelming endorsement, hence urging him not to deviate from that mandate.
The council described as unfortunate, comments made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo earlier this year indicating that the people of Ekumfi were denied development because they did not vote for then-candidate Francis Ato Cudjoe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 Parliamentary race.
President of the council, Odeefuor Akyin VIII, urged Mahama to equally distribute development across the country, including Ekumfi.
As the successor to late President John Evans Atta Mills, the Traditional Council says they will continue to recognise President-elect John Dramani Mahama as a son of the land, thus urging him to do the needful.
