Notable among them were the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare; the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and the National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye.

Others were the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Members of Parliament (MPs) and district chief executives and traditional rulers.

Opposition

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Augustus Nana Kwasi, also led a delegation from the party faithful to the One Week observance of the demise of the NPP MP for Ejisu.

 

Also present at the event was a former Minister of Trade and Industry and leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Burial

The venue of the event became a scene of mourning as some of those present wept at the loss of what they described as a dependable MP who cared for his people. The dominant colours people wore were red and black with the latter dominating to signify the sombre mood of the people.

It was also an occasion for people who had their eyes on the seat to test their popularity. These included a former chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi, and the former Managing Director (MD) of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Kwame Agyeman-Budu.

These two have been cited among the list of aspirants who have an interest in contesting as the Parliament candidate of Ejisu on the ticket of the NPP. The final funeral rites would take place at the same venue on May 18 and 19, 2024 respectively.

Dr Kumah died on March 7, 2024, at the age of 45 years and was survived by his wife, Apostle Lilian Kumah, and six children.
