According to him, the rescue mission to be used to take the seat from the NPP needed a special candidate with the required competencies and tactical skills, hence the need for him to be elected to lead the party in the 2020 parliamentary elections for the area.
Mr Sidii Abubakar Musah, who submitted his nomination forms today, July 18, 2019 at the party’s constituency office in Madina, said the filing of his nomination forms “marks the beginning of the rescue mission.”
“With the filling of this nomination, this marks the beginning of the rescue mission,” he said, adding that his campaign would be based on issues and that he has cautioned all members of his team to refrain from any campaign of insults or attacks.
He said his campaign would be conducted with the unity of Madina in mind, stressing that having served as a National Youth Organiser of the party, he knew the importance of unity within the party and therefore would not do anything to cause disunity within the party.
Mr Sidii also implored other candidates who had declared their intentions to contest the seat to refrain from campaign of insults and attacks since it was an internal election.
“I’m pledging my campaign will be devoid of insults. We will conduct ourselves well,” he said, urging the electoral body that would see to the organisation of the elections to maintain neutrality and impartiality.
He said he would work to strengthen the branches within the constituency to enable the party to win the seat from the NPP.
