The move would help the NHIA to cut down on rent bills for the two branches.

Mr. Christopher Oddoe, Winneba District Manager of the NHIA, who supervises the operations of the Awutu and Kasoa branches of the Scheme, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Winneba, after addressing a General Staff meeting attended by NHIA employees at Awutu, Bawjiase, Kasoa, and Senya-Beraku.

Mr. Oddoe commended the Chief Executives of the two Administrative set ups, for what he described as their laudable decision and hoped that, the project would be fulfilled in good time.

He said the provision of permanent offices for the two NHIA stations would save them huge sums of money annually in rent bills.

He assured the people of Awutu/Senya and the Kasoa Administrative areas of more credible services from the workers of the NHIA in the years ahead and called for their co-operation to ensure maximum success.

He charged NHIA workers in the area to work harder and maintain the trust and confidence the people have in the health insurance policy.

Later in an interview, Mr. Stephen Kwame Quaye, Awutu District Chief Executive, said although the financial challenges facing the assembly was great, his administration would strive to fulfill the promise given to the NHIA District Manager to ensure continued advancement of the aims and objectives of the policy.  

Mr. Quaye appealed to the various Non-Governmental organizations in the country and philanthropists to contribute financially and materially to the Awutu district and the Kasoa Municipal Assemblies to help towards the realization of the objectives of the NHIA.
