According to Kofi Adams, the party is yet to officially carry out an exercise to identify the reasons for the losing its Parliamentary majority as well as the Presidency  to the New Patriotic Party hence; it will be unfair to blame the former President.

The Greater Accra Regional organiser, Anthony Nukpenu yesterday in an interview on City FM accused Mr Rawlings for contributing to the loss of the party due to him constantly labeling the Mahama led Government as corrupt.

Speaking to City FM, Kofi Adams said, Mr Rawlings cannot be blamed for the party’s woes.

“We went into the election with the hope and desire to win. We did not win the election. Leadership of the party will have to take the responsibility for our inability to win the election. Let us blame nobody especially our founder… Party executives at all level will have to accept responsibility for what has happened and let us focus on the next agenda which is making sure that once we hold the government to its promises, and also to make sure no matter what we will get back to party and continue the great job we have started for this country…

"Nobody has done a research as to why we lost. And until that, we have done so the blame game must seize. Our former President and founding founder must be allowed to have his peace whiles we work out strategies to bring everybody on board, this not a directive we are issuing but an appeal to party members especially if you hold an executive position or you have been an appointee of the party” he said.

On December 9th the electoral Commission declared the NPP's candidate Nana Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2016 Presidential elections. The outcome of the polls has led sections of  the NDC supportersto blame the leadership of the party as well at the founder for their loss.
