In partnership with First Fidelity Health services, Tigo opened an in-house clinic on Monday, November 5, 2012 at its Head Office on the Barnes Road, Accra.
The clinic has been set up to provide periodic health checks and serve as the first point of call for health related issues for Tigo employees.
Commissioning the facility, Chief Technical Officer, Obafemi Banigbe indicated that "this is a practical proof of Management's commitment to our people. For us at Tigo, our employees' health and wellbeing always come first and we believe this will offer us the opportunity to provide good and timely intervention for all emergencies.
He also encouraged all Tigo staff to make it a habit to visit the clinic periodically to check their health status, seek professional medical advice to avoid self medication which later leads to complicated health challenges.
The Deputy Head of Human Resource, Kweku Yankson revealed that the initiative will be replicated in all Tigo offices across the country via mobile clinics. He encouraged all Tigo staff to make use of the facility to ensure a healthy life.
The facility was commissioned by Rev.Isaac Etuah-Jackson, the presiding priest of the Calvary Methodist church, Adabraka.
The Doctor in charge of the facility, Dr. Derban expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to be of service to the Tigo community adding, 'a healthy worker is always a happy worker.'
Tigo In-house Clinic is another first from the trail-blazing telecommunication services and follows on the heels of several employee-focused initiatives introduced over the years by the Human Resource Department.
