• 50% discount on calls between the paired numbers for life
• 10 free SMS per day between the paired numbers for life
• One free caller ring back tone, one free ringtone and breaking news direct to your phone for one month
• New innovative “2-sim pack” with free Facebook and email access that works on any handset
Accra, Ghana – 6th April 2011: Airtel Ghana today unveiled a new product, a starter pack which has two SIM cards with consecutive numbers set in one standard size SIM card body; a first in Africa.
The 2-SIM is designed to encourage lifetime companionship, by allowing two customers (who use the 2-SIM cards) to enjoy a discounted lifetime offering covering both Voice, Data and Value added services.
The 2-SIM users will enjoy the lowest call rates of 4Gp per minute when they make calls between their two twin numbers as well as receive two free SMS per day for life, making this an ideal plan for family, friends and business partners.
According to Airtel Ghana’s Marketing Director, Oare Ojeikere, customers on the 2-SIM offer would from today enjoy a one-month free trial of data services including push emails, instant messaging and access to social networks. On completion of the trial, he said, customers will be given the option to subscribe for the service at the fix rate of GHC3 per month for unlimited usage.
“The beauty of this product is that all these services will be available even to non-data enabled devices, ensuring that Airtel remains true to its promise of giving affordable communication access to all”, he added.
Phillip Sowah, Managing Director, Airtel Ghana commented; “We are very pleased to announce this new product for our prepaid customers. At Airtel Ghana, we always strive for leadership in everything we do, delivering world-class innovative and affordable services like this double-SIM, which we expect to help customers stay connected to those special people in their lives whilst saving significantly because of the affordable rates charged between the two numbers”.
Mr Sowah was convinced that Airtel’s performance at the recent Ghana Telecoms Awards where the company was adjudged the best customer care company and also won the best marketing campaign and CEO of the year was enough confirmation of the confidence Ghanaians have in the Airtel brand and the innovative products and services it offers. “In less than 33 months of operation, we have more than two million customers; a record in the telecoms industry in Ghana and a testimony that we are on our way to becoming the most loved brand in the daily lives of Ghanaians”, he added. ####
