As part of efforts to provide care and support to communities in which it operates, Mobile network operator Tigo will be celebrating this years’ mother’s day with patients, mothers and workers of the Pediatrics and Burns Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
In keeping with the spirits of love and sharing that this season brings, Tigo will treat workers of the unit to a buffet and reward employees who have excelled in the discharge of their duties.
Tigo will also take the opportunity to foot the outstanding bills of some patients who are struggling to settle them.
This initiative from forms part of a wide range of projects Tigo has undertaken to improve the health and well- being of beneficiary communities. Some health projects Tigo has undertaken in the past year include construction of a borehole in the rural farming community of Tain in the Brong Ahafo region to provide water to the indigenes of the community and four surrounding communities, settlement of medical bills of needy patients, construction of a reproductive and maternal health unit at the Atwima Mponuah District Hospital in Nyinahin, Ashanti region and conduction of health screening exercise for Kayeyei at the Tema station.
