AUCC Welcomes the Ohio University President as Keynote speaker at 7th Graduation
ACCRA, GH (Sunday October 31st, 2010) The African University College of Communications (AUCC) is privileged to welcome the President of Ohio University,Athens, Ohio, Dr Roderick McDavis, as Keynote Speaker at its 7th Graduation Day. This will take place on Wednesday November 10 at 10am. Dr. McDavis will be speaking on the Theme: "BROADENING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION"
Dr. McDavis is the first Ohio University President to visit Ghana. He is the first black President of Ohio University which was established in 1804. He is coming to Ghana with a 4 member team made up of : Prof. Steve Howard, Director, African Studies and Institute for the African Child Director, Graduate Studies, Center for International Studies, Professor, Media Arts and Studies, Dr. Dan Weiner, Executive Director, Center for International Studies, Dr. Paschal Younge, Associate Professor of African Music, Prof Yusif Kalyango, Head of International Journalism.
While in Ghana, Dr. McDavis and his delegation will discuss collaboration with AUCC in the areas of Staff/Student Exchanges, Journalism Students joint projects, Global Learning Experiences, Joint Staff Research projects, and AUCC staff capacity building.
On Monday November 8, at 4.30pm, Dr. McDavis and his team will participate in joint
AUCC-OU International Forum on Health Communication to launch AUCC's new Program in HEALTH COMMUNICATION scheduled to begin in January 2011.
