PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana admits two new Partners and adds an additional Partner from the South African Firm.
PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana, the leading professional services firm in Ghana has added three additional partners to its existing six partners. The promotion and transfer of the three new partners takes effect from 1 July 2010.
The new Partners are Oseini Amui, George Ohene Kwatia and Gert Allen. Oseini and George were Directors with our Assurance and Tax Services respectively. Gert has joined PwC Ghana from the PwC South African firm.
The three new partners have extensive experience in financial services, mining and energy and oil and gas industries.
Below are brief profiles of the partners.
Oseini Amui has over 20 years experience with the Ghana firm and worked with PwC firms in the UK, Kenya and Nigeria. He attended Mfantsipim School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Science and Technology. He became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) in 1993. He has extensive experience in providing assurance services to businesses in various industries and is one of the leaders of our financial services industry group in Ghana.
He is a reviewer and one of the lead International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) facilitators in our Africa Central territory. In the last year, among others, he was involved in developing an accounting manual for a financial services industry regulator and contributed to the redrafting of the Companies Code under the auspices of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana.
He has attended several Banking and IFRS accounting technical courses in Europe and South Africa.
Oseini is married to Linda and they have two kids. He enjoys watching movies, and horse-back riding. He is a good listener and loves to read.
George Kwatia was a Director of the Tax and Company Secretarial Services section of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) office in Accra, Ghana. He is also involved in Sierra Leone and Liberia Tax Services. George has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers over 10 years after six years with KPMG as Tax Manager. Prior to his stint at KPMG, he spent four years with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
George is one of the pre-eminent and most experienced tax professionals in Ghana with extensive experience in both international and local taxation.
He has been involved in tax training both at the IRS and PwC, due diligence projects, compliance tax reviews, and payroll administration assignments, corporate reorganisations including mergers and acquisitions and tax recovery.
George is a professional tax practitioner and is currently a member of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He holds B.Sc (Hons) Administration degree, Accounting option and Master of Business Administration (Accounting) degree from the University of Ghana.
George provides services to clients in several industries including manufacturing, financial services, asset management, insurance, mining, mining services, energy, oil and gas, construction, timber, entertainment, telecommunication and others.
George loves reading and engages in social and community activities. George is married to Evelyn and they have two children, Evelyn and George.
Gert has been a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than 20 years and has vast experience in the following industries: Mining, Agriculture, Consumer and Industrial Product and Services, Telecom Infrastructure Construction and Engineering Services , Pension Funds and health NGO’s.
Gert has acted as Engagement Leader or Client Relationship Partner for the larger clients of the firm in the Central Region in South Africa, in both the public and private. He also did Advisory work, more specifically Transaction Services, and served on the Advisory Leadership Team (ALT) in South Africa.
As Partner in charge of the Central Region in South Africa and an elected member of the Governing Board, this exposure to our firm together with his vast experience in servicing client portfolios gives him the understanding and knowledge of the environment in which we work to enable him to make a fruitful and positive contribution to the firm in Ghana.
Gert is married to Suzette and they have three kids. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with the family.
