For the past two years, February 14, has been observed as 'United Way Ghana' and Tigo, Ghana's premier telecommunication company, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has been partnering United Way Ghana to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in our society. This year's Valentine's Day will be no different as we still remain true to our commitment to help individuals and communities improve their lives
The 'Day of Caring' is a day for all individuals and institutions to stand up for themselves, their friends and families in a special way. For us at Tigo, it is another opportunity for us to once again pledge our commitment to change the course of our future for the common good of all. In this month of love, Tigo is redirecting the spirit of love and compassion characteristic with the Valentine's Day tradition toward community building activities to build on strategies to improve education, health and spread smiles.
On the 14th of February, the Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region will be the beneficiary of this year's Tigo 'Day of Caring'. Employees of Tigo will engage in general clean-up of dormitories at the school, bathrooms and the school compound. The Girls' dormitory will be painted while doors and louvers of the dormitory will be replaced. There will also be a mentoring session for the students by Tigo employees. Climaxing the day will be fun games with the students.
