Building on last year's foundation of raising awareness and educating members of staff on breast cancer, Airtel officially announced the launch of its commitment to support Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness across all sectors of its business. The two prong campaign aims to raise awareness, support research and inspire and educate staff both men and women through a range of activities within and outside the organization, such as expert Q&A sessions, Pink Fridays, raffles etc.
Inside –out – Approach: The campaign focuses on engagement of employees all over the country. It is our hope that through this awareness month we will inspire and facilitate all staff to donate money to renowned breast cancer research institutions, payment for the HPV vaccinations, Pap smear test and subsequently multiply the collective contribution.
In addition, the company will facilitate (mammography) and Pap smear testing for employees where appropriate and possible, and set up Q&A sessions with a medical expert for anyone within the company who may have questions about breast cancer or about the prevention, treatment, detection and vaccinations available for cervical cancer.
Fafali Dzobo, HR Director, said: "As a company, we take the well-being of our employees very seriously so I am delighted to be part of the Airtel Ghana’s Breast Cancer and Cervical Awareness campaign that aims to inspire and support our employees. As we grow the campaign awareness over time, Airtel Ghana will continue to listen to its employees and consumers across the nation to ensure that they are effectively and continually engaged in this important topic."
The pink ribbon represents hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses that publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity with women and men who currently have breast cancer.
So Think pink, it’s the color that's made for you, your mother, your girlfriend, your wife, your dad, your sister, your daughter. Airtel Ghana Breast and Cervical Cancer internal awareness campaign is dedicated to raising awareness among our staff. Early detection of breast or taking the vaccination shots against cervical cancer greatly enhances the chances of survival rate in most people.
So this month let's make a difference, let's fight for the cause, think pink, buy pink, donate pink and wear pink every Friday this October (5th,12th, 19th ,26th) and together we will win this fight.
