Singapore and the World Health Organization (WHO) tied up to organize a workshop here to integrate water safety knowledge for universities, Singapore's national water agency PUB said on Wednesday.
To better equip engineering graduates entering the water industry with the latest skills and knowledge on drinking water safety plans, WHO, in collaboration with Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU),
National University of Singapore (NUS) and PUB, joined hands to organize a workshop to integrate Water Safety Plans (WSP) into universities'
engineering curricula and research.
Running from Oct.28 to 30 in Singapore, the workshop will see over 30 university professors and researchers from the ASEAN University Network on Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network and water professionals from 11 countries converging.
The experience will eventually be replicated with many more universities around the world. The workshop will also identify and discuss topics for collaborative research in drinking water quality involving multi-disciplines within academia and water practitioners in the region.
