The Central Regional Council of Zongo Chiefs at the weekend installed Alhaji Abdul Karim Musa, businessman as "Sardauna" (Development Chief) to accelerate rapid progress and development in Zongo communities in the region.
Speaking at the installation ceremony in Cape Coast, Alhaji Mahmoud Dandey Mazaauroje IV, President of the Regional Council said the
installation of the development chief was also aimed at promoting peace and stability within the zongo localities.
Alhaji Mazaaruoje announced that all the 17 zongo chiefs in the region met and resolved to give the position to Alhaji Musa because of his
capability, trust worthiness and foresight.
Alhaji Mazaauroje, who is also the Sariki (Chief) of Cape Coast zongo, expressed the hope that Sardauna would help improve on development in the zongos especially in the areas of health, education, sanitation and poverty
reduction.
Alhaji Musa pledged to work hard to bring the needed development and peace in the zongo communities throughout the 17 districts.
He called for co-operation and understanding among zongo chiefs in the region and promised not to lord it over them but strive to ensure peace and harmony.
Alhaji Musa expressed appreciation to the Regional President of the Council, Swedruhene (Chief of Swedru) Nana Kobina Botwe II and all Zongo elders for their contribution towards his peaceful installation.
