Nana Ofori Owusu, Community and Public Outreach Officer of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) on Thursday said the Authority would rehabilitate 30 classrooms in five communities in the Akuapim South Municipality to improve teaching and learning.
MiDA will rehabiliate six classrooms each for Pokrom-Nsaba L/A Primary, Pakro Methodist Primary and Asikabew L/A Primary, nine classrooms for Nsakye Presbyterian Primary and three classrooms for Oparekrom L/A Junior High School.
Nana Owusu said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after meeting with the Municipal Advisory Committee of Akuapim South to discuss the way forward in the implementation of projects in the municipality.
Nana Owusu said ten feeder roads measuring 67 kilometres had been advertised for rehabilitation by the Authority.
They are; Odeikrom-Pakro, Nsawam-Odeikrom, Odeikrom-Dego and Kwamekrom- Maria.
He said the MiDA had trained 12 farming groups, each consisting 50 members in commercialization of agriculture and had been provided with fertilizers, seeds, Wellington boots and Nose-masks to help them cultivate 600 acre farms.
Nana Owusu said the gesture would motivate the farmers to produce more to feed the country and also help to reduce poverty.
